Southwest Power and Light is one of two brands, the other being YEP energy, used by Texpo Energy to sell electricity in the deregulated Texas market. Founded in 2006 Southwest Power and Light offers electricity and natural gas to residential and commercial customers backed by substantial buying power and years of energy experience. Their rates are competitive and their customer service is second to none.
Southwest Power and Light customers have many plans from which to choose. Their residential customers can select 3,6,9,12,18, 24, or 36-month fixed-rate plans, and green options are available for each. They also offer variable rate plans but will charge the consumer a monthly fee of $9.95 if their usage is lower than 1000 KWh.
Commercial customers also have individualized energy plans to meet their specific business needs.
Southwest Power and Light, in conjunction with the Arbor Day Foundation, allow customers to enroll in their Plant-A-Tree Program. For every Kilowatt hour of energy consumed the company makes a financial donation that is used to plant trees in Texas’ Bastrop State Park which suffered the loss of thousands of trees due to the 2011 wildfires.
