Acacia Energy is a retail electric provider in Houston, Texas with over 30 years of service to the state of Texas. Acacia was founded in 2010 with the intention of providing affordable electric service to all residential customers regardless of their financial position. They currently have 15 employees and generate 2.07 million in revenue.
The Public Utility Commission of Texas reports that Acacia Energy changed its name to Brooklet Energy Distributors, LLC (BED) in 2015. Under the umbrella of BED, they are doing business as Acacia Energy. They also have affiliations with both Snap Energy and Vital Power.
Acacia Energy offers several plan types, all with the focus of providing families with affordable energy. They offer a plan which provides free electricity both on the weekends and at night, a second plan offers the option of two months of free electricity, and a third plan is referred to as Valtricity. Valtricity is popular because it requires no long-term contract. There is no security deposit, no termination fee, and no social security number required to enroll.
Acacia Energy offers customers with financial needs additional help. They contribute to The Burned Veteran’s Discount Program which offers financial relief to any customer who suffered burn injuries as a military veteran. They also established the Acacia Customer Assist Program to help low-income families and those facing hard times pay their bills.
In addition to offering competitive, affordable pricing to their customers, Acacia Energy also contributes to numerous charitable organizations. The four main organizations they support are Texas Children’s Hospital, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, Burned Veterans Discount Program, and Acacia Customer Assistance Program. They also encourage their customers to contribute to these organizations.
