Express Energy is a retail energy provider based in Houston, Texas. It began operations in 2006 as a response to the energy market deregulation. They currently have an ‘A’ rating from the Better Business Bureau.
Vistra Energy, a Fortune 500 company, is the parent company of Express energy. Vistra Energy owns Value Based Brands and under that umbrella, they own 4Change Energy, TriEagle Energy, Veterans Energy, TXU Energy, and Express Energy.
All of the plans offered by Express Energy are fixed-rate plans. There are four plans from which to choose. The first plan is known as Express Energy Quick 12. This is a standard fixed-rate plan with a fixed rate per kWh for a 12-month period.
The second choice available to its customers is known as Exp[ress Energy Flash 12. This plan is also a fixed-rate plan for 12 months. This plan includes 6% of the power coming from renewable resources.
The third plan is called Express Energy Flash Bundled 12 and is a bill credit plan where the customer receives a $100 credit on their monthly bill for exceeding 100kWh of usage. The bundled portion of this plan means all pass-through charges from the TDU (the local utility responsible for maintaining the infrastructure as well as the physical delivery of electricity) are included in the Energy Charge on the bill.
The fourth plan is the Express Energy Speedy 24. It is a 24-month plan that offers free energy when the usage is between 1,001kWh and 2000kWh per month. If the usage is higher or lower than this range the customer will be charged for the energy but will receive a $35 bill credit for every month the usage exceeds 2000kWh.
